Dullstroom is a charming village nestled deep in the heart of the Highlands Meander, Mpumalanga. Situated at 2,100m above sea level, it is one of the highest villages in the country, often nick-named ‘The Scottish Highlands of South Africa’. Dullstroom is known for its sub-alpine climate, which supports several high-altitude sporting pursuits, and the trout fly-fishing opportunities are world-renowned. Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate, designed by Ernie Els, is ranked no. 15 in SA and has become a jewel in Dullstroom’s crown. The village is proud to host the second-highest Park Run in the world, and Dullstroom is now a preferred destination amongst European athletes for high-altitude training in the summer months.
Dullstroom has sustained its popularity, as the perfect weekend country getaway, and is only 2.5 hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria Despite its size, Dullstroom has over 20 celebrated restaurants and pubs.
